Dave Berg
David Dave Berg (born June 12, 1920 in Brooklyn , New York , † May 16, 2002 in Marina del Rey , California ) was an American cartoonist and comic artist .
Berg was active in drawing from 1940 and worked for various publishers; he was, among other things, background artist for Will Eisner's The Spirit . From 1945 to 1958 he worked for Marvel on various comics (e.g. Combat Kelly ). However, he only became known to a larger audience through his work on the magazine Mad (from issue no. 34), where he created the series The Lighter Side (called the great MAD report in German Mad ), which satirically dealt with various everyday topics .
