Dave Chartier (born February 15, 1961 in St. Lazare , Manitoba ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League during his active career .

Career

Dave Chartier began his career as a hockey player with the Brandon Travelers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League , for which he was active from 1977 to 1978. Then the attacker went to the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League . In the following three years Chartier succeeded in increasing his points yield and in the 1980/81 season in a total of 69 games to achieve 64 goals and 60 assists for the Wheat Kings. In the 1978/79 season he won the Ed Chynoweth Cup , the championship of the WHL, with the team . Chartier was selected in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft in the tenth round at a total of 191st position by the Winnipeg Jets .

The following season he spent mostly with the Wheat Kings and also completed a game each for the Tulsa Oilers in the Central Hockey League and for the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League . This was also his only use in the NHL, in the following season Chartier was exclusively for the Tulsa Oilers in use and completed 77 games in which he scored 36 points. The Canadian was active for the Sherbrooke Jets in the American Hockey League for the next two years and collected a total of 46 points in 91 games. After the end of the 1983/84 season, Chartier ended his active career at the age of 23.
