Dave Davis (athlete)

Dave Davis (born August 20, 1937 ) is a former American track and field athlete who appeared in the 1960s as a shot putter and a discus thrower .

He won two national championships in the shot put:

  • 1958 ( NCAA ): 17.84 m
  • 1963 ( AAU ): 19.04 m

He was also successful in the Pan American Games.

In 1960 he was third in the eliminations for the Olympic Games in Rome , but had to cancel his participation due to injury.
