Dave Koz (* 27. March 1963 in the San Fernando Valley , Los Angeles , California ; real name David Kozlowski ) is an American saxophonist of smooth jazz and radio presenter .

Live and act

Koz graduated from UCLA Los Angeles in 1986 with a degree in mass media. He immediately started his music career and played with Bobby Caldwell . The rest of the 80s he worked as a studio musician, was a member of the Rippingtons and various other bands and toured with various musicians such as B. Richard Marx .

In 1990 Koz decided to pursue a solo career. This move was successful and the first album, named after himself, was positively received by fans and critics. With one of the following albums (Saxophonic) he received a nomination for a Grammy Award and a NAACP Image Award .

From 1994 he presented his own radio show entitled: "The Dave Koz Radio Show". In it he presented the latest music in his genre and conducted interviews with the most important greats of this musical style.

Today Koz is the presenter of the Dave Koz radio show on Saturdays at "94.7 The Wave", a smooth jazz radio in Los Angeles and various programs within the Smooth Jazz Network .

In 2002 Koz founded the record company Rendezvous Entertainment.

Koz publicly professed his homosexuality in April 2004 .
