The Davey Point is a rocky headland on King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 10 km southwest of Round Point on the John Paul II coast in the north of the island.
The headland was mapped and named Round Island in 1935 by participants in the British Discovery Investigations . To avoid confusion with the nearby Round Point, the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the cape after Graham J. Davey (* 1934), assistant geodesist of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in Admiralty Bay between 1957 and 1958, in 1960 Made triangulation measurements of King George Island and later extended them to Nelson Island , Robert Island and Greenwich Island .
