David Atkins (born December 12, 1955 in Sydney , Australia ) is an Australian director , producer and choreographer .

Life

In 1988 Atkins became the artistic director and co-producer of Bi-Centennial Australia's Military Tattoo, an Australian military music show. He became known as the producer and artistic director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. For this work, Atkins was the only member of the Sydney Games Organizing Team to be awarded the Golden PIN of the International Olympic Committee.
