David Burtka (born May 29, 1975 in Dearborn , Michigan ) is an American actor and chef in his own catering company Gourmet MD

life and career

David Burtka, who has Polish ancestry, grew up with his sister in Canton, Michigan . There he attended Plymouth Salem High School, which he graduated in 1993.

Until 2000, Burtka was in a relationship with Lane Janger, a film producer with whom he raised twins who were born by a surrogate mother. Since 2004, Burtka has been the partner of actor Neil Patrick Harris , alongside whom he had some guest appearances on the series How I Met Your Mother as Lily Aldrin's ex-boyfriend Scooter. The couple has twins , a boy and a girl (* October 2010), who were also carried by a surrogate mother. In 2014, Burtka and Harris married in Italy .
