David Goodman (conductor)

David Goodman (* 1976 ) is an American conductor.

Goodman began his musical training as a rock 'n' roll drummer when he was eleven . At the age of fourteen he played drums in an orchestra for the first time at the Vermont Summer Festival. The following year he began studying drums, piano, counterpoint, composition and conducting at the Juilliard School Pre-College . In 1994 he continued his education at the Curtis Institute of Music . In 1995 he founded the Wild Ginger Philharmonic Orchestra , to which young musicians such as Jonathan Gandelsman , Nicholas Cords , Colin Jacobsen , Eric Jacobsen, Cynthia Miller , Brad Gemeinhardt , Lev Zhurbin , Heather Fortune and Peter Charig belonged or belong.
