David Hansen (singer)
David Hansen (* 1981 in Sydney , Australia ) is a countertenor and mezzo-soprano .
career
Hansen studied with Andrew Dalton at the Conservatorium of Music in his hometown and completed his training with James Bowman , David Harper and Graham Pushee . He made his debut in 2003.
His repertoire includes roles such as the title role in Gioachino Rossini's Tancredi , Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and Ottone in Antonio Vivaldi's Griselda, as well as various roles by GF Handel , including Giulio Cesare . He also interpreted Thomas Adès ' The Tempest (in the Santa Fe Opera ), Claudio Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and L'incoronazione di Poppea as well as the Cherubino in WA Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro .
At the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music 2012, Hansen appeared in Domenico Scarlatti's La Dirindina and Giovanni Andrea Bontempi's Il Paride . In 2015 he made his debut under Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Wiener Musikverein .
Hansen is married to the Norwegian harpist Ida Aubert Bang.
