David J. Bederman

David J. Bederman (* 1961 in Atlanta ; † December 4, 2011 there ) was an American international lawyer and until his death professor at the Emory Law School .

Bederman studied at Princeton until 1983 and at the London School of Economics until 1984 , where he received his master's degree. The doctorate in law followed in 1987 at the University of Virginia . He worked as a law clerk at the United States Court of Appeals in the 9th district in order to exercise a corresponding activity at the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in The Hague in 1988/89 . In 1996 he received his PhD from the University of London . After briefly working as a salaried attorney in Washington DC, he began teaching in 1991 at Emory Law School. Among other things, he received the Distinguished Fulbright Chair grant for a research stay at York University in Canada.

Bedermann died at the age of only 50 from complications of appendectic cancer in the hospital of Emory University.
