David Johnson (born September 16, 1969 in Beaudesert ) is a former Australian wheelchair tennis player .

Career

David Johnson started wheelchair tennis at the age of 23 and started in the paraplegic class .

He took in 2000 at the Paralympic Games in Sydney in part. In the round of 16 of the individual competition he was defeated by Laurent Giammartini in two sets. The doubles competition was much more successful for him and his partner David Hall when they reached the final against Robin Ammerlaan and Ricky Molier . They lost the game 3: 6, 7: 5 and 1: 6 and thus won the silver medal.

In the world rankings, he achieved his best placings with sixth place in singles on June 26, 2000 and second place in doubles on July 24, 2000. He played his last full season in 2001, after which he took part in occasional tournaments in Australia until 2011 .
