David Knollys, 3rd Viscount Knollys

David Francis Dudley Knollys, 3rd Viscount Knollys , DL (* 12. June 1931 ) is a British peer and politician of the Conservative Party .

life and career

Knollys was born on June 12, 1931 to Edward Tyrwhitt Knollys, 2nd Viscount Knollys (1895-1966) and Margaret Mary Josephine Coats († 1987). He served in the Scots Guards and rose to lieutenant . Knollys attended Eton College . In 1996 he became Deputy Lieutenant in Norfolk . He lives in Norwich . (Status: 2003) He is currently not a member of the Hereditary Peerage Association .

Membership in the House of Lords

After his father's death in 1966, he inherited his title as Viscount Knollys and the then associated seat in the House of Lords .

He lost his seat through the House of Lords Act 1999 . He did not run for one of the remaining seats.

He is not listed in the Register of Hereditary Peers , which are available for by-election.

family

Knollys married Sheelin Virginia Maxwell, sister of Barry Owen Somerset Maxwell, 12th Baron Farnham and daughter of Lt. Col. Hon Somerset Arthur Maxwell and his wife Angela Susan Roberts. They have three sons together.
