David Micevski (born February 25, 1986 in Perth ) is an Australian football player .

Career

Micevski won the U-18 championship of the state of Western Australia with the youth team of Perth SC in 2003 and moved up to the first team for the following season. There, too, he was one of the top performers on his team and was honored as the best player within the team in his first season. In early 2005 he took part as a guest player with the APIA Leichhardt Tigers at the Torneo di Viareggio in Italy; the season with Perth he concluded by winning the State Championship and the State Cup.

After Micevski's development had been followed for a long time by Mich d'Avray , Technical Director of Perth Glory , he received a short-term contract with the A-League team in late 2005 to replace the resigned Matt Horsley . On the last days of the season, the midfielder came to five missions and signed a two-year contract with Perth for the 2006/07 season .

At this time he Micevski established himself as part of the Australian Olympic selection ; took part with the team in a four-nation tournament in Vietnam and was part of the squad several times during the qualification for the 2008 Olympic football tournament . Overall, he came to six missions for the national team between 2006 and 2007.

After he did not get beyond the role of supplementary player in his two seasons with Perth, his contract, which expired in 2008, was not renewed and Micevski continued his career with the Western Knights in the State League of Western Australia. He led the team as captain to win the Soccer Pools State Cup in 2008 and lost the following year with the Knights in the championship final to his ex-club Perth 2-0, but won the 2009 Player of the Year election.
