David Matthew Mirfin (born April 18, 1985 in Sheffield ) is an English football player who is under contract with the English third division club Scunthorpe United .
Career
Huddersfield Town
David Mirfin began his career in 2001 in the Huddersfield Town youth . Two years later, his impressive performance pulled him up to the professional team. In this he made his professional debut on May 3, 2003 in the 1-1 draw against Oldham Athletic , when he came on in the 84th minute for Nat Brown . However, this was his only game in the 2002–03 season. But in the following season he had fought for a regular place and played almost every game.
On August 17, 2006, he extended his contract until 2009.
At the beginning of the 2008/09 season he left the club after the obligations of Andy Butler and Chris Lucketti and moved to Scunthorpe United . Mirfin signed a three-year contract with the Irons .
Scunthorpe United
On August 11, 2008, he moved to Scunthorpe United for a fee of £ 150,000 . Five days later he made his debut for the new club against FC Walsall , but was sent off after ten minutes because of an emergency brake. His first goal for Scunthorpe United he scored on November 3, 2008 in stoppage time in the Football League Trophy game against AFC Rochdale , which brought his club to the semi-finals. In this, the team also defeated the Tranmere Rovers 2-1, but lost in the final against Luton Town 2: 3 after extra time.
Watford FC
On July 4, 2011 David Mirfin moved to the English second division club Watford and signed a two-year contract.
Scunthorpe United
After an interim return on loan in the second half of the 2011/12 season, he finally returned to Scunthorpe on July 31, 2012.
