David Oelhoffen (2007)

David Oelhoffen (* 1968 ) is a French director and screenwriter .

life and career

In 1996 Oelhoffen made his first short film Le Mur , for which he had also written the script. After further short films he made his feature film debut in 2001 with En mon absence .

The film Den Menschen so Fern, based on the short story The Guest by Albert Camus , starring Viggo Mortensen and Reda Kateb, premiered at the 2014 Venice Film Festival competition . There he was honored with the SIGNIS Award, the Arca CinemaGiovani Award and the Interfilm Award for Promoting Interreligious Dialogue. At the Munich Film Festival 2015, the film was awarded the Fritz Gerlich Film Prize.
