David P. Barash

David P. Barash (* 1946 ) is an American psychologist.

He studied biology at Binghamton University and received his PhD in zoology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1970 . He teaches as a professor of psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle . His research focus is sociobiology and evolutionary psychology , whereby he also evaluates psychological findings about aggression for peace research . He has authored numerous books, several of them together with his wife, the psychiatrist Judith Eve Lipton .
