David Paul Gregg

David Paul Gregg (born 1923 in Los Angeles ; † November 2001 in Culver City ) was an American inventor .

In many circles he is considered to be the inventor of the optical data storage device and the electronic camera or digital camera . During his time at Winston Research Corporation, he invented the video disc camera, which he then patented in 1962 (USPO 3350503). Although her pictures could only be stored for a few minutes and electrically analog (on that video disc), it is the first camera that could electronically save still images .
