David Sidney Peach (born January 21, 1951 in Bedford ) is a former English football player .
Player career
Peach was committed in 1969 by the then third division Gillingham FC as a professional and played there until 1974. In 1972 he rose with Gillingham in the fourth division. He played 187 competitive games in which he scored 30 goals.
In 1974 he became the second division Southampton FC obliged starts to open as full-back was able to secure a regular place. He was also a regular penalty taker . His most famous penalty was in the FA Cup semi-finals on April 3, 1976 against Crystal Palace , which secured Southampton a place in the final against Manchester United . In the final, Southampton was unexpectedly able to prevail as the second division against the third in the First Division with 1-0.
In March 1980 he moved to third division club Swindon Town , where he was never able to establish himself. Due to the decline of Swindon Town Football Club, he was sold to the second division Leyton Orient , where he ended his career a season later.
