David Rangel (born November 12, 1969 in San Luis Potosí , San Luis Potosí ) is a retired Mexican football player who played in midfield .

Life

society

Rangel began his career as a professional footballer in 1988 with his hometown club Atlético Potosino , for which he made his debut in the Mexican Primera División in an away game played on November 27, 1988 at CD Irapuato , which his team lost 3-0.

After the Potosinos were relegated to the second division at the end of the 1988/89 season , Rangel moved to Tampico-Madero FC , who, however, withdrew from the Primera División at the end of the 1989/90 season for financial reasons, so that Rangel returned to the club had to change to continue playing first class.

The next six seasons Rangel was under contract with the capital club Cruz Azul , with whom he was runner-up in the 1994/95 season and played in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup the following season . Although the Cementeros won the competition in July 1996, but because Rangel had recently moved to Deportivo Toluca FC , he was no longer part of the winning team.

In the following years Rangel experienced his most successful years as a professional player and was three times Mexican champion with the Diablos Rojos between 1998 and 2000 . After two stops at Atlante and the Jaguares , Rangel returned to Toluca and ended his active career there in the 2004/05 season . He played his last first division game on May 8, 2005 in a 3-1 away win against Monterrey .
