Joel Appelbaum

Joel Appelbaum (born December 30, 1941 in New York ) is an American physicist .

Appelbaum received a BS from the City University of New York in 1963 , an MS in 1964 and a Ph.D. in 1966. both at the University of Chicago . He moved to Bell Laboratories in 1967 and then held the position of Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of California until 1968 . From 1968 to 1994 he was again at Bell Laboratories and until 2000 Executive Vice President and General Manager at Micropolis Corporation . In 1978 he became a Fellow of the American Physical Society .
