Georg Tiefenbach

Georg Tiefenbach (born January 22, 1976 in Kempen ) is a German author , screenwriter and film producer from Hamburg .

Life

Georg Tiefenbach grew up in Kempen, Cologne and Chicago , and from the age of eight he played children's and youth theater, including at the Kresch Theater in Krefeld .

After graduating from high school, he worked at various theaters in Munich (Münchener Lach- und Schießgesellschaft , Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel ), where he assisted Heinrich von Kleist's Penthesilea in the production of Andreas Kriegenburg . This was followed by work for film and television, such as at Arnold & Richter , Bayerischer Rundfunk in the editorial team for the culture magazine Cappriccio and editing for the Arthaus sales department of Kinowelt . During this time, the first short films were made with him as an author, director and producer.

Tiefenbach studied dramaturgy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in cooperation with the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in Munich and attended the drama workshop there, with Michael Gissenwehrer and Jens Malte Fischer , among others . He worked as a theater dramaturge at the Prinzregententheater ( The beautiful Helena by Jacques Offenbach ) and at the Akademietheater in Munich ( Belgrade trilogy by Biljana Srbljanović ). In the meantime he completed a year in France at the Université Haute-Bretagne II in Rennes with stays in Paris and Aix-en-Provence . In Hamburg he attended the film masterclass with a focus on film at the Hamburg Media School . The films made there, for which Georg Tiefenbach wrote the script, were at around 100 national and international festivals, for example at the Festival de Cannes , the Kalpanirjhar International Fiction Film Festival in Calcutta , the First Steps Award in Berlin , in Porto at the International Academic Festival (Great Prize of the Jury 2011 for Zeitfenster ) or the International ISFVF of the Beijing Film Academy , where the film Zeitfenster won the Audience Award 2011.

Tiefenbach writes scripts for German television ( Constantin Film , action concept , Studio Hamburg , Phoenix Film ) in the field of series and series. He is the author and producer of the feature film Endzeit / End of Time , which will celebrate its world premiere at the 63rd Berlinale in 2013. Furthermore, Tiefenbach has published a film and cultural studies book with drama and direction , in which he deals with storytelling in film, theater and literature as well as with the craft of film directing.
