David Wallace (born July 8, 1976 in Limerick ) is an Irish rugby union player who plays on the position of winger . He is active for the Munster region and the Irish national team .

Wallace made his debut for Ireland against Argentina in 2000 . He followed his brothers Richard and Paul, who were also rugby players. He was nominated for the 2001 tour of the British and Irish Lions , but was not used in an official test match. Due to numerous injuries, he could not always secure his place in the national team until 2006.

Since the successful 2005/06 season, in which he won the Triple Crown at the Six Nations with Ireland and the Heineken Cup with Munster , he has been part of the regular formation. He is considered a particularly explosive winger who has many offensive qualities. With Munster he was able to repeat winning the Heineken Cup in 2008.

At the Six Nations 2009 the Irish reached the second Grand Slam after 1948 , Wallace was in the starting line-up in all games. On April 21st of that year he was nominated by Ian McGeechan for the tour of the British and Irish Lions to South Africa . He was used in all three games against the "Springboks".
