David Weller (born February 11, 1957 in Portmore ) is a former Jamaican track cyclist .

David Weller competed three times at the Olympic Games : in 1976 in Montreal he finished eleventh in the 1000 meter time trial , in 1980 in Moscow he won the bronze medal in the time trial and in 1984 in Los Angeles he came in sixth in the same discipline.

Internationally, Weller also started at Pan-American Games and Commonwealth Games . At the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 1975 and in San Juan in 1979 , he won the silver medal over the kilometer, and in 1983 the bronze medal in Caracas . At the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 , Weller won the bronze medal in the sprint . He also won two gold medals at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1978 .

To date (as of 2014), David Weller is the only Jamaican athlete to have won an Olympic medal in a sport other than athletics . In 1979 and 1980 he was Jamaica's Sportsman of the Year .
