David van der Poel (born June 15, 1992 ) is a Dutch cyclocross driver .

Career

David van der Poel was Dutch champion in the junior class in the 2009/2010 season. He also won two races and the overall ranking of the Cyclocross World Cup , as well as four races and the overall ranking of the Super Prestige . He has been driving for the Belgian Continental Team BKCP-Powerplus since 2011 . In the 2012/2013 season he won the Bollekescross in Hamme-Zogge , the national championship and the Cauberg cyclocross in the U23 class .

In 2018 he was able to win the first stage of the Alsace Tour in the road race and he won the cycle cross Illnau in Switzerland in cyclocross .

Personal

David van der Poel is a son of the former Dutch cyclist Adrie van der Poel (* 1959) and a grandson of Raymond Poulidor (* 1936), one of the most popular former French cyclist. His younger brother Mathieu van der Poel (* 1995) is also active as a cyclocross driver.
