Hamme is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 24,865 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It consists of the core town and the southern part of Moerzeke .

It is located on the Scheldt a good 6 kilometers (km) north of Dendermonde , 8 km south of Sint-Niklaas , 23 km southwest of Antwerp , 30 km east of Ghent and 32 km northwest of Brussels .

The next motorway junction is at Sint-Niklaas on the A14 / E17 .

The nearest regional train stations are in Dendermonde, Zele , Lokeren and Sint-Niklaas and long-distance trains stop in Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels.

There is a regional airport near Antwerp and an international airport near the capital Brussels.
