Lochristi is a municipality in the region Flanders in Belgium . It is located in the Ghent arrondissement in the province of East Flanders 8 km northeast of Ghent . Lochristi has 22,489 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) and an area of ​​60.34 km². The community consists of the core town and the three districts Beervelde , Zaffelare and Zeveneken .

traffic

The next motorway exits are in the Beervelde district on the A14 / E17 and in Gent. In Lokeren and Wetteren are the next regional stations and in Ghent also hold about regional express trains.
