Wachtebeke is a Belgian municipality in the north of the Flanders region on the border with the Netherlands with 7771 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019).

Ghent is 16 kilometers (km) southwest, Antwerp 38 km east and Brussels about 50 km southeast.

The next motorway exits are at Lokeren and Beervelde on the A14 / E17 . The nearest regional train stations are also located in both towns, and national express trains stop in Ghent.

The Provinciaal Domein Puyenbroeck is also located in Wachtebeke .
