Zele is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region . It is located in the province of East Flanders and belongs to the Arrondissement of Dendermonde .

Lokeren is 5 kilometers north-west, Dendermonde 6 km south-east, Ghent 22 km west, Antwerp 30 km north-east and Brussels 34 km south-east.

The next motorway exit is to the north near Lokeren on the A14 / E17 . Zele has a regional train station on the Lokeren-Dendermonde line. In both cities there are also other train stations with stops for regional trains. National express trains also stop in Ghent and Brussels. There is a regional airport near Antwerp and an international airport near the capital Brussels.
