The Davis Glacier is a very rugged glacier on the Scott Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . Its area of origin is the northwest flank of Mount George Murray . With a total length of 28 km, it flows into McMurdo Sound opposite the southern end of Lamplugh Island and meets with the ice masses of the Cheetham ice tongue .
The Davis Glacier was first mapped by participants in the Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909) and named after John King Davis (1884-1967), first officer and later captain of the expedition ship Nimrod .
