Daycore is a death metal band from Medellín / Colombia founded in 2002 . The band also mixes elements of Thrash Metal in their music .

The songs are about social grievances and the political climate in the Colombian government. The band is represented with the song Dark Visions From The Other Side on a sampler CD in the March issue of Metal Hammer magazine .

history

The band was founded in 2002 in Medellín / Colombia . The band consists of Alex Betancur ( guitar ), Juan Esteban Ospina (guitar), Julián Correa ( drums ) and Yasser Orozco ( vocals , bass ). The band released their first EP in the year it was founded. This is called Unconscience . The pieces deal with the grievances in society and reflect the band's opinion on the politics of Colombia. In July 2002 the CD was presented at the Porfirio Barajacob Theater and the Marinilla (the largest theater in Antioquia ). After disagreements within the band were settled, the band played concerts again for the first time. This was at the Altavoz Festival in Medellín in front of over 70,000 spectators.

In 2008 Daycore released their debut album The Beginning of Purgatory after the band had promoted it positively thanks to their single Dark Visions From The Other Side . The band was the album also in other nations of South America for sale, since as the opening act of Mortal Sin played on their South American tour.

In 2010 the band went on tour in South America again. This was called the Beginning of Purgatory South American Tour and took it through Ecuador , Chile , Argentina , Peru and Bolivia . They also took part in three festivals during this tour. The band played a special concert with 16 other bands, which took place in Colombia . The proceeds from the concert were donated to Haiti after the devastating earthquake .
