Deajah Stevens (born May 19, 1995 in Baltimore ) is an American athlete who has specialized in the 100-meter run and the 200-meter run . She participated in the 2016 Olympics for the United States .

Career

At the United States Olympic Trials, she finished behind Tori Bowie in the 200-meter run and was subsequently nominated by the United States Olympic Committee for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In the Estádio Olímpico João Havelange she won her preliminary run and qualified for the semi-finals. There she secured a starting place in the final over the 200 meters. In the finals, she crossed the finish line second to last and ultimately finished seventh.

While she finished second behind Tori Bowie in the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 100 meter run , she won the US championship over the 200 meters ahead of Kimberlyn Duncan and Tori Bowie. She was also nominated for the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London , where she was allowed to start over the 100 and 200 meters. Over the 100 meters she took second place in her preliminary run and qualified for the semi-finals, where she was the last of her run to be eliminated. In contrast, she qualified for the final run in the 200-meter run and finished fifth as the best American.

She was banned for 18 months in 2020 for violating anti-doping rules.
