Dean Laabs

Dean Laabs (* 1965 in Wisconsin ) is an American jazz trumpeter .

Laabs earned a bachelor's degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin , followed by a Master of Music in Third Stream Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music . Since 1988 Labbs has worked in the field of jazz , rock and new improvisation music both as a soloist and with Jeff Song ( The Other Pocket ), the Boston Chamber Ensemble, Santos Perez , the Phantom Arts Ensemble , Eric Brown and Port Smith . In 1993 he presented the album Invisible Maniac ( Asian Improv ). He also worked as a composer, music teacher (in Wisconsin and the Boston area ) and as an artwork designer for the Northeastern and Asian Improv labels. In the field of jazz, Laabs participated in six recording sessions between 1993 and 2000.
