Dear, Sweet Emma is an American computer-animated short film directed by John Cernak in 2003.

action

Old Emma sits in her kitchen in the morning and reads the newspaper. On the radio gives Sheriff of Fishtickle announced that after months of searching for Emma's husband Tucker set and he is declared dead. Emma cries as she hears the announcement in which the sheriff promises her all support, including from the citizens of the small town. A song is played for Emma. She goes to the window, on the sill of which a bird sits and later dances. After several attempts to get rid of the bird, Emma finally kills it in a fury with a pan. When her cat keeps jumping on the sink, Emma kills her in a rage after a while. She then gets something out of the refrigerator and also takes a look into the freezer where her dead husband is. Satisfied, she goes out onto the terrace and sweeps up numerous birds that she has recently killed.

Dear, Sweet Emma was animated within two months. The realization took place as a computer animation in 3D (with LightWave 3D and After Effects ). The film was first shown to the public on March 27, 2003.

Awards

Dear, Sweet Emma was awarded the BAFTA in the category Best Animated Short Film in 2004 , but could not prevail against Jo Jo in the Stars .
