Debbie Jacobs-Rock (born November 10, 1955 in Baltimore , Maryland ) is an American former disco singer.

Career

Jacobs began singing in the church choir as a little girl. At 17 she started her professional singing career in a regional jazz club. A few years passed before her first successes in a completely different musical field. Jacobs released several records in the late 1970s and early 1980s at the height of the disco era. In March 1980 she was # 1 on the American disco charts with High on Your Love / Hot Hot (Give It All You Got) . A subsequent success came with Undercover Lover / Don't You Want My Love , still Top-10. Jacobs' Paul Sabu- produced albums for MCA, Undercover Lover (1979) and High on Your Love (1980), both hit the top 200 on the album charts. She also performed live in the legendary Studio 54 during those years . After the end of the disco era, Jacobs remained true to the genre and released various singles for smaller labels such as Sunergy, Personal, Fantasia and Diva. She also worked with Patrick Cowley and Paul Parker .

After her music career slowly faded, Jacobs began working with children and families affected by HIV and AIDS. She founded the Baltimore Pediatric HIV Program, Inc., which was renamed LIGHT Health & Wellness Comprehensive Services, Inc. in 2006. It is still working for this today.
