Debora Serracchiani
Debora Serracchiani (born November 10, 1970 in Rome ) is an Italian lawyer, politician of the Partito Democratico and member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies .
Life
Serracchiani graduated from commercial school in 1989 and graduated in law in 1994. She lives in Udine and practiced as a lawyer specializing in labor law until she moved into the European Parliament .
Serracchiani is married.
Political career
From 2006 to 2009 Serracchiani sat for the Partito Democratico in the provincial council of the province of Udine , from 2008 as deputy group leader.
From March 2009 to April 2013 she was a member of the European Parliament , where she was part of the social democratic group .
On April 22, 2013, Serracchiani won the regional elections in her homeland of Friuli Venezia Giulia as a candidate for a center-left alliance . Surprisingly, she prevailed over incumbent Renzo Tondo ( PdL ) by around 2000 votes . The center-left alliance was led by the Partito Democratico and supported by SEL , IDV , the Cittadini citizens' list per Debora Serracchiani presidente and the Slovenian regional party Slovenska Skupnost . Serracchiani served as President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region until May 3, 2018. In November 2017, she announced that she would no longer run for this office and instead run for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies in the 2018 parliamentary elections. You managed to move into the PD region list. Her successor in the office of regional president is Massimiliano Fedriga from the Lega .
Since March 28, 2014 Serracchiani has been deputy party leader of the PD .
