Deborah Louise Black
Deborah Louise Black (* 1958 ) is a Canadian historian of philosophy .
Black is Professor of Philosophy and Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto , where she also completed her studies. Her main research interests are in Arabic ( Al-Farabi , Avicenna , Averroes ) and medieval philosophy ( Thomas Aquinas ), including the reception of ancient Greek philosophy , especially the rhetoric and poetics of Aristotle , the Menon dialogue from Plato and Neoplatonism .
