occupation

Debris Documentar ( German : Trümmer-Documentation ) is an experimental film by filmmaker Marian Dora from 2003. After a few short films, this was the director's first feature film.

action

The film deals with the everyday life of a man (Carsten Frank) who works for Ulli Lommel on the set of the film Zombie Nation . At the same time, this man, whose name is not known, is planning to make his own film (at the beginning of the film you can see the fade-in ´Insights into the preproduction of Melancholy der Engel´), which turns out to be extremely difficult.

First, the man tries to attract actors for his film by advertising in a supermarket. The man seems frustrated during his daily work on the film set. He is also isolated in his private life, spending his time sifting through his opulent VHS film collection and tinkering with the props for his own planned film.

In his free time he shoots photos of animal carcasses, some of which he also collects to take home with him. He has regular contact with a prostitute (Patrizia Johann). After a while, he was actually contacted by a woman who had read his ad in the supermarket. They set up a meeting at the man's house. When he explains to her what his film is about, the woman is scared and wants to leave the house. The man then overpowers the woman and kills her by strangling her and hitting her head with a phone. Then he films himself sexually assaulting the dead person. The film ends with the man burning the woman's corpse and going jogging like in the first shot of the film.
