Deep Computing Visualization

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The DCV ( Deep Computing Visualization ) from IBM is a mixture of thin clients and thick clients . The typical element of a thin client is that data is transmitted to a client via VNC (or similar) . This image data is integrated into a user interface running on the client side (typical for thick clients), with the help of which the image can be manipulated.

These manipulations are carried out in real time by the server and new image data are sent to the client.

In this way, for example, entire CAD designs could be created without the need for high-performance CAD software to run on your own computer. Such a use on PDAs would also be conceivable .

An executable version of the software was presented at CeBit 2005.
