Defraggler is a basic version in the free program for defragmentation of NTFS - and FAT32 - File systems under Microsoft Windows . It can be run from Windows XP and also supports 64-bit systems.

The program offers the option of starting the defragmentation at certain times, for example when logging in or when the computer is idle. Defraggler can also defragment certain files or folders. Defraggler is a compact program; the portable version is e.g. B. executable on USB sticks .

Three different versions of the program can be found on the download page under the Builds link . In addition to the desktop installation, there is a slim and a portable version.

Test reports

Defraggler received 5 out of 5 rating points from the Softpedia website . In a test by Computer Bild , issue 12/2009, it was the best defragmentation tool for Windows Vista and the price-performance winner for Windows XP . Defraggler was download of the week at bild.de in December 2010 . The following is highlighted as a "plus point": "In addition to complete drives, specific defragmentation of individual files and folders is also possible."

Tecchannel also praises the fact that a few hard drive areas can be cleaned up in a targeted manner and that Defraggler is faster than other programs. Computer - the magazine for practice gave it a very good mark in its 9/2011 issue and judged version 2.06: “There are many programs for defragmentation, but the 'Defraggler' from Piriform is the only program that specifically processes individual files can.
