DEGAS and DEGAS Elite were a widely used commercial image editing program from Batteries Included on the Atari ST for editing bitmap images.
The name was an apronym from "Design & Entertainment Graphic Arts System" and the impressionist Edgar Degas .
DEGAS Elite could be started in all screen formats supported by Atari ST. This made it possible to create and edit images in different resolutions and color depths.
The range of functions was far ahead of its time for an image processing program.
