Deich- und Hauptsielverband Südwesthörn-Bongsiel
The Deich- und Hauptsielverband Südwesthörn-Bongsiel (DHSV Südwesthörn-Bongsiel) is a water and soil association , the association area of which includes around 500 km² of the offices of Südtondern and Central North Friesland in the northwest of the North Friesland district. The area of the association is roughly equally divided between the drainage areas Südwesthörn in the north and Bongsiel in the south.
The DHSV Südwesthörn-Bongsiel was created in 1956 from the merger of the two dike and main sewer associations Ruttebüll-Südwestörn and Bongsiel, based in Niebüll . It is the head association of 39 sewage associations. The DHSV is the office for the processing areas 1–3 within the Eider river basin district .
The board of directors carries the designation Deichgrafschaft , the association assembly of the dike assembly and the head of the upper dike . The legal supervision over the DHSV Südwesthörn-Bongsiel exerts the district administrator of the district of North Friesland.
The tasks of the DHSV Südwesthörn-Bongsiel and its sub-associations are flood protection , maintenance of water bodies , pumping station operation , nature conservation and landscape management. With the amendment of the Water Act of 1971, the state of Schleswig-Holstein took over responsibility for the state protection dykes from the DHSV.
