Del tha Funkee Homosapien (born August 12, 1972 in Oakland , California ; real name Teren Delvon Jones ), also known under the pseudonym Deltron , is an American rapper . He was best known for his innovative, experimental and humorous style.

Career

Jones began his career writing text for Da Lench Mob , his cousin's Ice Cube's band project . In 1991 he released his first solo album I Wish My Brother George Was Here (with the hit Mistadobalina ), which was produced by Ice Cube.

The following publication No Need for Alarm 1994 came about without the Ice Cube. The album was not a commercial success, which is why his record company Elektra Records separated from Jones. He founded his own record label Hiero Imperium , on which the album Future Development was released in 1998.

As a member of the Hieroglyphics group , he was one of the rappers and producers of the 3rd Eye Vision album . The album was received positively by both critics and fans.

His fourth album Both Sides of the Brain was released in 2000.

That same year, Del Deltron founded 3030 . Together with Dan the Automator and Kid Koala , Del takes on the role of the fictional hero Deltron Zero . Deltron 3030 is said to be a futuristic band from the year 3030 and is considered to be the pioneer of the band Gorillaz , in which Del also appears.
