The Delaware State Route 273 ( DE 273 for short ) is a state route in the US state of Delaware that runs in an east-west direction.

The State Route begins on Maryland State Route 273 east of Fair Hill and ends 20 kilometers in New Castle on Delaware State Route 9 .

After crossing over from MD 273, DE 273 runs past the historic Thomas Phillips Mill Complex towards the center of Newark City . Together with Delaware State Route 2 , the street on Delaware Avenue crosses the center and, in addition to St. Thomas Episcopal Church and the State Theater, also passes the Aetna House . State Route meets DE 72 on Library Avenue before exiting Newark on Ogletown Road heading east.

About one kilometer south of the Wilmington / Newark Line crossing of the SEPTA Regional Rail, the DE 273 crosses the Delaware State Route 4 in Ogletown . To the northwest of the town of Christiana , the State Route meets the route of Interstate 95 and the Delaware Turnpike . In the south of the village the road crosses the Christiana River and after about one kilometer first crosses State Route 7 and then west of Lewden Greene Park the route of Delaware State Route 1 . About 500 meters east of the park, the DE 37 branches off in a north-easterly direction.

On Frenchtown Road, the road passes the New Castle Air National Guard Base and meets State Route 58 to the west of the base and US Highways 13 and 40 to the east . In the west of the city of New Castle, the Delaware State Route 141 branches off to the north, before the DE 273 ends in the city center of the Delaware State Route 9 after 20 kilometers.
