Tuzoia manchuriensis is an extinct species from the genus Tuzoia with an uncertain position within the arthropod (Arthropoda).
features
Tuzoia manchuriensis had an egg-shaped outline (length to height ratio 1.5) and a carapace length of about 40 mm. The upper edge was straight and ended in a well-developed, forward-facing rostrum overhanging the notch . Nothing is known about the posterior rostrum, marginal and dorsal spines. The lateral line ran largely parallel to the upper edge and was only weakly developed. The network-like structure of the surface was present, but it is not well-preserved.
Locations
Only one badly preserved specimen was found in the Central Cambrian Tang-shih Formation in the northeast of the People's Republic of China ( Liaoning Province ).
Systematics
The species was first described in 1937 by Charles Elmer Resser and Riuji Endo .
