The Delphin Verlag GmbH is a German publishing house , which belongs to VEMAG AG publishing and media. Since 2016 the German editions of the English publisher Parragon Books have been distributed by Delphin Verlag. The program focuses on cookbooks, non-fiction books, gift sets, children's books and children's book licenses.
The publisher is not identical to the Delphin Verlag , which existed in Munich until 1937.
history
The publishing house was founded in Zurich in 1962 and was in Stuttgart until 1977. In 1978 the publishing house was relocated to Munich . In 1992 the publishing house was integrated into VEMAG Verlags- und Medien AG. Since then, Cologne has been the official publishing house. In the early 2000s the publishing activity was stopped.
Delphin Verlag was revived in July 2016. Since then he has been selling the German books of the English publisher Parragon .
The publisher published a number of picture books under the name Happy Books , which had previously enjoyed great success in the United States . From 1965 onwards, picture book titles by Walt Disney appeared under the name Little Disney Books in the same configuration . From the late 1960s, Richard Scarry's picture books were also published by Delphin Verlag . From 1960 onwards, small nature guides were published under the name of Bunte Delphin-Bücherei .
