Dolphin fountain (Dresden)
Delphinbrunnen is one of the following four fountains in Dresden :
- Dolphin Fountain (Dresden Old Town) , the most important of the dolphin fountains in Dresden, located on Brühl's Terrace ,
- Delphinbrunnen (Wachwitz) , a fountain in Dresden-Wachwitz ,
- Delphinbrunnen (Blasewitz) , a wall fountain from 1904 at the Villa Käthe-Kollwitz-Ufer 88 and
- Delphinbrunnen (Johannstadt) , a fountain system created in 1878 by the architect Karl Weißbach , destroyed in 1945 and never rebuilt on the no longer existing Striesener Platz in Johannstadt .
From 1760 two more dolphin fountains were located on the left and right of the courtyard portal of the country house (works by Johann Christian Feige ), which had survived the destruction in 1945. They were dismantled in 1957 when Ernst-Thälmann-Straße (today: Wilsdruffer Straße) was redesigned and the access to the city museum was relocated to this former courtyard side, and with them the main entrance to the Großsedlitz baroque garden was created between 1960 and 1963 , where it is now are still located.
