The Delta School Windhoek (Delta School Windhoek) is the only state-run German-speaking school in the Namibian capital Windhoek . In 2010 the school celebrated its 40th anniversary.

The school consists of a primary school (grades 1-7; until 1990 Deutsche Grundschule Windhoek (DSW) , today Delta Primary School Windhoek (DSW)) in the district of Windhoek-Central and an Oberschule (grades 8-12; until 1990 Deutsche Oberschule Windhoek (DOSW ) , today Delta Secondary School Windhoek (DSSW) ) in the suburb of Olympia . The school is part of the “Schools: Partners for the Future” initiative .

The school has a boarding school (student dormitory) with 32 children in the home (as of 2016) and runs the Future Education project , an afternoon care concept for its own students. A kindergarten is attached to the primary school, but is operated separately and privately.

DSW

Originally founded as a German school in 1970, the DSW has been attended by around 40 percent of non-German-speaking students since independence in 1990. DWS started with 320 students and 13 teachers and over the years has developed into one of the leading schools in Windhoek with almost 600 students and 30 teachers. The language of instruction is English as well as German. German as a mother tongue or foreign language is a compulsory subject up to grade 10.

DSSW

At Delta School Windhoek, as at all Namibian schools since 2007, the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate can be obtained after twelve school years as the highest school qualification .

In 2013 Peter Schlenther left the DSSW after 25 years as headmaster and went into retirement.
