The Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC; in German about Namibian Secondary School Certificate ) is the highest general school certificate in Namibia and is a prerequisite for attending a university . Since 2009, the NSSC has replaced the University of Cambridge's Higher International General Certificate of Secondary Education (HIGCSE) . The NSSC will continue to be awarded in collaboration with the university.

The NSSC exams are taken in the 12th grade . They are carried out centrally by the Directorate of National Examinations and Assessment (DNEA) . It is tested in all compulsory subjects, including at least two languages, science and economics.

All subjects for obtaining the NSSC must be taught and assessed in English (with the exception of language subjects ). The certificate can be achieved in two different levels of difficulty, "Higher Level" (NSSCH) and "Ordinary Level" (NSSCO). The prerequisite for access to universities is usually a minimum number of points in the "higher level".

In the 2014 school year, 39.9 percent of students received a university entrance qualification, compared to only 29.8 percent in 2015.
