Dembo account
Dembo Konte (* 1942 in Banjul ; † January 14, 2014 ) was a musician and Jeli (griot) from Gambia .
Life
Konte played the West African instrument Kora , a 21-string bridge harp. He was the son of Alhaji Bai Konte and has played in a duet with the Senegalese Kansu Kouyaté since 1987 and toured the United Kingdom as the duo "Konte & Kuyateh" .
