Demianos Kattar

Demianos Kattar (French: Damien Kattar , * 1960 in Jezzine ) is a Lebanese economist and politician. From January to August 2020 he was Minister for the Environment and Administrative Development in the Diab cabinet .

After studying management and strategy, Kattar became a strategic advisor for numerous financial institutions in the Gulf States and a university professor at the Université Saint-Joseph and the University of La Sagesse in Beirut. From April to July 2005 he was Minister of Finance and Minister of Economy and Trade in the government of Najib Miqati .

On January 21, 2020, Minister-President Hassan Diab , Minister for the Environment and Administrative Development , was appointed to represent the Maronite population in his cabinet.

On Sunday (August 9th), five days after the explosion in the port of Beirut , Demianos Kattar - like Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad - announced his resignation on the grounds that the government had not carried out any reforms.
